That’s what I like
PART 1
Using my hands. The process of making and thinking and building and philosophising while creating.
Taking photographs - editing them. Making an image. Working on the color. Getting the shot. Capturing some essence of the soul. There are times it can’t hide in photos. It’s this vulnerability and connection that is powerful in portraiture.
Strong coffee with oat milk.
Riding my bike
Long walks and hikes
Gardening with my girls. Being anywhere outside with them. With our family. Being together and enjoying the outdoor life.
Watching them grow, watching them do their little life, organizing their things. Playing restaurant together. Taking care of their little doll babies. Their tenderness is so touching and soft. I want to bottle it up forever.
Playtime. For myself. For the girls too, but me. I need to wander. I need to drift. I need to not have a plan. My mind needs places to go to make the connections it didn’t know it was looking for. I might need three hours to get into that zone and then powerful productivity happens. But if I can’t get there, I will not have the same power at all.
Making things. Crafts. I forgot actually what that is a bit. I used to craft more. and I want to get back into it. But not clothes for clothes or fashion. More for the materials, the fabrics, the colors, the patterns, the stiching, the cutting, the ironing. I the process of making, the ideation, the craft and fabrication. I love the love put into something that is sewn, then worn.
Light and how it moves. Prisms. Glass. Water.
The city me. That self that is almost exploding with ideas, and making moves. There is the city pace and serenditpity and speed that fills me so far up. I love that pace. I love the creativity that the city brings out.
The country me. The solitude and the vastness of nature. Being with it and in it. Hearing the birds sing. Hanging out the laundry to dry. Watering plants. Digging in the dirt. Cutting wood, building projects. This
Simple things. Just being. Just seeing how beautiful the sun shining on us is. Seeing water sparkle. Enjoying the morning coffee. Hugs. Laughs. That’s what it’s all about, rigggght?
Complicated things. Ah I love a problem and finding creative solutions.
